Reviewer's Thoughts:
This map was a real resfreshing sight, containing back-to-the-basics geometry (hardly a negative aspect), new textures and a pleasing simplicity reminicent of some of the original Unreal maps. The map is of some ancient Roman-looking arena, composed of numerous rooms having at least three tiers. I appreciated the 'tightness' of the geometry as everything seemed to flow without interruption and was very clean. The usage of new and well aligned textures was well liked and the lighting was natural and convincing, however there were numerous orbs which acted as sconces although they did not produce much light (not really sure what they were supossed to be though....). The item placement was nice as well and allowed the players to easily locate a decent weapon. Unfortunately, the map did not seem to be noded, which is surprising since it could have been done fairly easily given the size and complexity of the map. The map had a great circular design allowing for a good gameplay flow. This is one of my favorite maps that I have had the pleasure of reviewing. Take a peek!
