Reviewer's Thoughts:

I love it when a map author goes into detail when making a map, and this one certainly has some nice subtleties. The map appears to be a communications base which perhaps doubles as a storage facility to explain all of the crates lying around. The first thing I noticed was that there is always ammo to be found and the location of armor and powerups was well thought (i.e. if you are not careful, you may be squished while trying to get the shield belt. The level is not big horizontally, but has three tiers, which makes for some good z-axis play (however, this is not really a sniping kind of level). I enjoyed a lot of the geometry of the level and found that it was creative as well as functional. In terms of lighting, I am a bit on the fence on how much I liked it. It seems that lighting received special detail in some areas but in other areas not so much (i.e. the cool red lighting seen in the first picture versus the washed out and poorly sourced white light in the other pictures). The texturing was well chosen and aligned for the most part, however somewhat monotone (which was accentuated by the ever-present white lighting). I was pleased to find that the map was bot friendly and I enjoyed a good twenty minutes of gameplay, without noticing any bot issues. Overall, this map was quite fun to play, and I hope to try out some more of desperado's other works.
