Reviewer's Thoughts:
I ran into this map while playing on the Newbies Playground monster-mash server and I was fairly impressed with it. The map seems to be a mining and military base stationed in a mountainous terrain. One of the main strengths of the map is the really well done outdoor terrain, which was seamless with the brushes which intersect it (no BSP holes too!). As you might have guessed from looking at the screenshots, the map is of greater than average size allowing lot of room for bots (or monsters if playing monster-mash!), however I was a little dissapointed with the sparseness of weapons in the field area, where one may spawn, run around looking for the nearest weapon and get sniped off before they may do so. In this regard, I thought that the addition of either more cover (i.e. rocks, barrels, or whatever) to shelter unarmed players or simply adding a bit more aresenal to even the score. The texturing was well done, although it was interesting to see the castle texture packages used with the mine package (it did look pretty good though). The lighting was mediochre, but I found it a bit drab and needing a little work such as adjusting the radius and lighting settings to be a bit more believable. Looking at the time of the map's release, this map was probably one of the better usermaps created for that time.
